I will not cry,
Not one single tear.
I will not scream,
I will not fight,
You will never see my anger or fear.
I will lie and withhold,
I will smile and be still.
You hear nothing,
Blind to how I feel.
You want to know me,
You want to care,
But you won't miss me if I'm not here.
Gazing upon the lonely moon,
I beg of you to heal my wounds.
To shelter me from the sky,
To take away the burden of my cries.
Time passes and darkness fades,
Your silence lingers,
Ending my pleas.
My eyes close,
The sun rises.
It is my turn to become the cruel one.
